Lucas Oil adjusts Golden Isles schedule
With long-range forecasts for cold weather, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has delayed its season opener while shuffling and cutting one race out of next week’s schedule at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Ga., the series announced Saturday.
Tuesday’s practice has been postponed to Thursday while Wednesday’s original season opener has been cancelled. The $10,000-to-win event originally scheduled for Thursday has been pushed to Sunday, Jan. 19.
The $12,000-to-win Friday event and $25,000-to-win Saturday event remain as originally scheduled. See lucasdirt.com or gisdirt.com for details of the schedule changes and other divisions affected.
Pit gates are scheduled to open at 2 p.m. daily with grandstand gates at 3 and on-track activity at 5:30 p.m.
