Purse boost for Ingram Memorial
Saturday’s Jail Breaker Topless Outlaw Series event at North Georgia Speedway has received a purse boost with the Chatsworth, Ga., oval tabbing the race as the Bill & Frank Ingram Memorial.
Originally set to pay $4,000-to-win, the main event will pay $5,009-to-win in tribute to the No. 9 cars driven by the father-and-son duo and winners of hundreds of races at Georgia tracks. Bill Ingram, a Georgia Racing Hall of Fame member, died in 1999 after battle with cancer while Frank Ingram died last year when he was struck along an Atlanta-area interstate during a tow job.
The event kicks off the Tennessee-based tour’s 16-race schedule that carries more than $250,000 in purse money and pays $10,000 to the series champion.
Two Crate Late Model divisions will be among undercard classes. Visit northgeorgiaspeedway.net or social media channels for more race details.
