What won the race: Going by Jimmy Owens on a lap-seven restart and fighting off a late challenge from Ethan Dotson, fifth-starting Wil Herrington of Hawkinsville, Ga., raced to a 50-lap victory Sunday at East Alabama Motor Speedway for a $10,000 payday. Driving his Maryland-based Bruce Kane Racing entry, Herrington took the checkers 1.100 seconds ahead of the ninth-starting Dotson.
Quotable: "The Good Lord put me here," Herrington said in victory lane. "That's just says all there is to it. I took the lead there and I was just praying every lap. Just didn't wanna see those cautions, but at the end of the day I knew it was His plan, and whatever was gonna happen was gonna happen."
