What won the race: Regaining control when Kylan Garner pulled off as the field approached a last-lap restart, Chris Bragg of Springtown, Texas, won Friday's unpredictable Nutrien Ag Solutions Revival Super Dirt Series season opener at Salina Speedway. Bragg led the opening 10 laps from the pole, then paced the final circuit to beat ninth-starting Delbert Smith to the checkers by 0.897 of a second for a $3,000 payday and his first career Revival Series victory.
Quotable: “I’m here (in victory lane) and I started (up front),” Bragg said. “I don’t like to take them this way, but I’m not going to argue about it.”
Key notes: Bragg bagged his first career touring series victory and his first win of any kind since Oct. 5, 2024's Fall Nationals at Rolling Plains Motor Speedway in Hays, Kan., worth $2,500. ... Seventh-starting Kylan Garner muscled his way by teenager Braxten Leonard out of turn four as they sped toward the checkered flag, sending Leonard spinning and ending his race; the resulting contact drew the race's fourth and final stoppage, as Leonard's car required a tow to the infield. ... Garner paced the field under caution before pulling off at the entrance of turn three as they approached the final restart. Leonard, who led laps 20-24, was credited with 13th and Garner in 14th. ... Dan Smith, winner of the last major Late Model event there on July 31, 2021, rebounded to finish seventh after losing a left-rear wheel during heat race pace laps. ... Brandon Conkwright overcame a lap-12 spin to finish eighth. ... Greg Sharpe retired under the lap-12 yellow. ... Josh Leonard led laps 11-19 before tangling with Bob Bills's lapped machine as he slowed to pull into the infield; the elder Leonard rebounded to run as high as seventh before retiring under the last-lap caution for his son, Braxten's spin. ... Andy Bryant spun from 10th and pulled off on lap 15. ... Glen Powell spun from third to trigger the race's first slowdown on lap six; he continued for 10 laps before retiring. ... The series debut at Salina lasted 28 minutes, with 10 starters completing 25 laps. ... Brady Balderston scratched after ripping his nose off on an infield tractor tire during the eight-lap dash; Dakota Dellinger scratched after his heat race, while Scott Cimfl and Scott Phillps loaded up after hot laps.
On the move: Dan Smith of Beloit, Kan., started 20th and finished seventh.
