What won the race: Second-starting Scott Crigler of Alton, Mo., fended off a last-lap surge by polesitter Dillon McCowan to lead all 30 laps, beating McCowan to the line by 0.190 of a second to win Friday's inaugural United Late Model Racing Association event at Monett Motor Speedway. Crigler collected $3,000 and his his first touring series triumph since Aug. 17, 2023, a $5,000 Comp Cams Series stop at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Ark.
Key notes: Scott Crigler captured his first win of any kind since Aug. 3, 2024, a 4 State Series victory at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. ... Cole Wells pursued Crigler from laps 5-16 before McCowan regained the runner-up spot for good on a lap-17 restart. Wells settled for third. ... Sawyer Crigler, the race winner's son, finished fourth after sliding by Jon Kirby on a lap-18 restart. Kirby rounded out the top five. ... Shawn Duncan gained eight spots to place sixth. ... Ryan Johnson slowed from sixth with a flat right rear, drawing the race's fifth and final caution on lap 22; Johnson continued and finished ninth after changing the tire. ... Seventh-running Jace Parmley pulled off under the lap-22 caution for Johnson and was credited with 11th. ... Tony Jackson Jr. slowed from third with a flat right rear during a lap-five caution for Joey Smith's solo spin. Jackson rebounded as high as 10th before retiring on a lap-18 restart. Smith continued until slowing again on lap 18 for the fourth yellow flag. ... Brandon Baldridge worked his way to 10th before losing an engine on the 17th lap. ... The first slowdown came on the opening lap when Justin Wells and eventual race winner, Scott Crigler, made contact entering turn three, sending Wells spinning; He did not continue. ... The 30-lapper lasted 24 minutes, with 10 starters completing the distance.
