What won the race: Second-starting Dillon Tidmore of Gadsden, Ala., repelled a late-race challenge from David McCoy to win Saturday's 50-lap Southern All Star Series debut at Winder-Barrow Speedway. Tidmore controlled the entire distance for the $5,000 top prize, beating McCoy to the line by 0.425 of a second for his third-career SAS victory and his first of the season.

Quotable: “I was worried about somebody getting up there and blasting around the top, but I just said I was gonna ride around the bottom until I saw somebody’s nose or saw somebody get by me,” Tidmore said. “We was gonna live and die by (the bottom) and it worked out ... I wasn’t really sure what to expect (about the track), I’ve talked to Kenny Collins probably three or four times this week and he’s kinda coached me up on what to do around here, so thankful for him too. Gotta give a shoutout to him, he kinda had me prepped to come here, so we kinda knew what we was getting into. But, pretty cool little place.”
