Brian Rickman led all 40 laps for his first victory of the 2025 season.
What won the race: A night after leading the opening 18 laps before retiring, pole-starting Brian Rickman of Columbus, Miss., found redemption by leading all 40 laps in winning Saturday's Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series feature at Whynot Motorsports Park. Rickman raced to the checkers 1.146 seconds ahead of Neil Baggett for the $3,000 payday and his first victory of the season.
Key notes: Brian Rickman recorded his 15th career MSCCS victory and his first since a $3,000 hometown triumph last August at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss. ... Rickman led 58 laps between both MSCCS races this weekend; he was credited with 12th after leading the opening 18 laps in Friday's opener at Hattiesburg (Miss.) Speedway. ... Seventh-starting Neil Baggett took second on lap 26 and chopped more than four seconds off Rickman's lead in the waning laps. ... Rick Rickman prevailed to finish third after a back-and-forth battle with Ross Camponovo in the closing stages. Camponovo settled for fourth. ... Six-time series champ Chad Thrash improved seven positions and finished sixth. ... Fast qualifier Ryan Wilson started second before fading to 10th. ... Tanner Kellick, winner of Friday's $2,500 weekend opener at Hattiesburg, started 11th and finished 14th. ... The main event was slowed by one caution and lasted 15 minutes, with 11 starters completing 40 laps.
On the move: Dean Carpenter of Coldwater, Miss., started 19th and finished ninth.
