Leighton's bid to regain the lead on the last lap ended with a turn-two spin after contact with Murty, who notched his first series victory and richest Late Model triumph.

"We had a good race going. Hate it for him, but, man, that was awesome. I drove my ass off. I think I hit every wall, every berm, every panel's all crinkled up. But it's awesome."
