Jason Feger celebrates his third MARS Series victory of the season.
What won the race: Fresh off his DIRTcar Summer Nationals title, reigning MARS champ Jason Feger roared from his fourth starting spot and into the lead after five laps Friday at Farmer City Raceway, then raced to his third MARS Championship Series victory of the season. Feger earned $5,000 in taking the checkers 0.759 of a second ahead of polesitter Justin Duty on a night spiced by Bob Gardner's disqualification for turning over Daryn Klein's car in heat race retaliation.

"My grandma being inducted into the fan's Hall of Fame night definitely my biggest fan, and so that's really special and I know it means a lot to her ... "

The second caution appeared on the 14th lap when points leader Ryan Unzicker slowed with transmission woes and retired. ... A lap-16 caution flew for debris. ... The feature concluded at 10:24 p.m. .... A Bob Gardner-Daryn Klein clash highlighted heat action. The two tangled in the first heat with Gardner going backwards on the frontstretch to draw a caution, then swerving towards Klein's car before cutting through the infield cut Klein off in turn four. Gardner struck Klein's left-rear tire, causing Klein's car to roll over. Gardner was disqualified while Klein was OK and took a provisional to start and park. ... With the DIRTcar Summer Nationals ending, MARS returned to action for the first time since May 31.
