What won the race: Second-starting Scott Crigler of Alton, Mo., controlled all 30 laps en route to winning Saturday's $5,000 Ed Rinehart Memorial at Batesville Motor Speedway. Crigler beat Morgan Bagley to the checkers by 0.418 of a second for his second career Comp Cams Super Dirt Series victory, both at Batesville.
Key notes: Crigler's first Comp Cams Series win was Aug. 17, 2023, a $5,000 prelim to that year's Topless 100 weekend at Batesville. ... Crigler captured his fourth overall feature victory of the season, his first away from the fledgling United Late Model Racing Association — all three at Monett (Mo.) Motor Speedway. ... Morgan Bagley took the runner-up spot from polesitter Kyle Beard on a lap-eight restart and trailed Crigler the rest of the way. ... Jon Kirby, who flipped wildly the previous night at Oklahoma's Arrowhead Speedway, moved from fifth on the lap-eight restart into third by lap 12, relegating Beard to fourth. ... Points leader Billy Moyer, who entered seeking his third straight series victory, improved five spots and placed sixth. Moyer has remained noncommittal about running the entire tour. ... Clay Stuckey pitted from seventh under the race's first caution on lap six and could only rebound to 13th. ... The feature lasted 14 minutes, with 15 starters completing 30 laps.
On the move: Jon Kirby of Russellville, Ark., started 12th and finished third.
Winner's sponsors: Crigler’s Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Cornett Racing Engine and sponsored by Royal Oak Charcoal, Crigler Timber Harvesting, Integra Racing Shocks, AMSOIL, Hoosier Tire Midwest, Keyser Manufacturing, VP Racing Fuels, Midwest Sheet Metal and Center Point Graphics.
