Clint Keenan's team enjoys victory lane at Atomic.
What won the race: Surviving a last-lap scare, outside front-row starter Clint Keenan of Pataskala, Ohio, led all nonstop 30 laps of Saturday’s Summer Sizzle at Atomic Speedway for his first major touring victory. The 40-year-old Keenan edged R.J. Conley by 0.276 of a second to earn $5,000 in the event co-sanctioned by the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man and Ultimate Heart of America Series, his first triumph on either tour.
Key notes: Keenan repelled a mid-race challenge from fast qualifier Adam Stricker en route to his first win of the season; Stricker briefly edged ahead on lap 19, but Keenan quickly regained control to officially maintain the lead. … Iron-Man Series points leader Rusty Schlenk finished sixth. ... The feature lasted just shy of 10 minutes, with 15 starters completing 30 laps.
On the move: Rod Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio, started 16th and finished 11th.
