Miley leads 40 laps for Wayne County victory
ORRVILLE, Ohio (Aug. 2) — Polesitter Jared Miley of South Park, Pa., led every lap of Monday’s Summer Sizzler 40 at Wayne County Speedway for his second career victory on the O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series. Miley earned $4,000 for taking the checkers more than two seconds ahead of eighth-starting Clint Smith of Senoia, Ga.
Fast qualifier Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, Pa., was third followed by Donnie Moran of Dresden, Ohio. Jason Flory of Creston, Ohio, who held the second spot early, rounded out the top five.
Series points leader Robbie Blair of Titusville, Pa., rallied from his 17th starting spot to finish sixth, earning Frankland Racing Supply Hard Charger honors.
Seven cautions slowed the action, including one for a lap-13 tangle between Jeremy Canada and Greg Oakes. A lap-22 yellow appeared for an incident involving Oakes, Eric Myers, John Garvin Jr., Corey Conley and Jim Rasey.
Notes: Miley’s Rocket Chassis has a Brougher’s Machine Shop engine and sponsorship from Colussy Chevy. … His previous series victory came May 24, 2009, at Central Pennsylvania Speedway in Clearfield, Pa. … Corey Conley slowed for a lap-12 caution. … Keith Berner’s flat tire brought out the final yellow with 10 laps remaining. … The race lasted 45 minutes. … Among drivers failing to make the feature: Blaine Aber, Wayne Maffett Jr. and Thomas Baker. … Series competitors head to Canada for Aug. 11-12 action at Autodrome Granby in Quebec and Brockville (Ontario) Speedway. Both races pay $5,000 to the winner.
