WINCHESTER, Va. (Sept. 24) — Hometown driver Ronnie DeHaven Jr. earned $10,000 at Winchester Speedway with a victory in the Super Late Model portion of the Winchester 200. DeHaven led all 50 laps of a feature slowed for a single caution on the third lap for Jeremy Miller.

DeHaven took the checkers ahead of Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., and Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa. Booper Bare of Rockbridge Baths, Va., and Winchester's Bo Feathers rounded out the top five.

The pole-starting DeHaven got the jump on Richards at the outset, maneuvered through lapped traffic through the midpoint of the feature to maintain his lead, and edge away to a 10-length advantage by lap 30. The frontrunners faced heavy lapped traffic with 10 laps remaining, but Richards could make up any ground on DeHaven, who grabbed his first Winchester 200 triumph.
