HAMMETT, Pa. (Sept. 8) — The two-race weekend on NDRL's ULMS Racing Series was tabbed the September Sweep. Dan Stone of Thompson, Pa., gave it a new name — the Stone Sweep.

Racing to his second victory of the weekend, Stone rallied from the 10th starting spot Sunday to grab the checkers at Eriez, two nights after a $3,000 victory that marked his first-ever at the 3/8-mile oval. Only a Saturday rainout that pushed the finale to Sunday slowed Stone’s $8,000 onslaught. | Slideshow

Polesitter Rob Blair of Titusville, Pa., finished second Sunday with series points leader Mike Knight of Ripley, N.Y., in third. David Scott of Garland, Pa., and Chad Valone of Warren, Pa., rounded out the top five finishers.

In Sunday’s finale, Blair took command from the pole while Stone quickly worked toward the front from his starting spot outside the fifth row. Stone broke into the top five after five laps and was up to second on lap 16. He moved into the lead midway through the 50-lapper and began pulling away before a lap-31 caution for debris.

Stone wouldn’t be headed the rest of the way in completing his two-victory weekend.
