BEAUMONT, Texas (June 1) — Kevin Sitton of Baytown, Texas, raced forward from the fifth starting position in Friday night’s Southern United Professional Racing tour event at Golden Triangle Raceway Park and earned a $2,000 for his first series victory in nearly two years. | Slideshow
Sitton, who last won on the regional tour on July 31, 2010 at Baton Rouge (La.) Raceway, outran runner-up finisher Robbie Stuart of DeRidder, La., to notch the sixth victory of his career on the Louisiana-based regional tour.
Ronny Adams of Greenwood, La., was third at the finish while Ray Moore of Shreveport, La., advanced from the 21st starting spot to finish fourth and reigning series champion Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, advanced from 13th to fifth.
The series moves to Battleground Speedway in Highland, Texas, Saturday night for a $2,500-to-win event.
