Johnson wins as Bakersfield draws only 14 cars

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (June 14) — Mike Johnson of Lompoc, Calif., earned $2,000 at Bakersfield Speedway in winning the first Western Allstars event under the World Racing Group's DIRTcar Racing banner. Brad Pounds and Zack Forster chased Johnson across the finish line in an event that drew just 14 cars. The on-again, off-again race was held as a non-points event following recent weeks of wrangling that saw Bakersfield initially drop Western Allstars event, then return them to the schedule following the June 9 DIRTcar agreement. | Slideshow
