If you feel like you've seen the description "first-time winner" frequently at DirtonDirt.com this spring, you're not alone.

While it's early in the season and most tours north of the Mason-Dixon line haven't hosted a single Dirt Late Model event, it appears 2011 could be record-setting for the number of tours that are seeing drivers break into victory lane for the first time.

We all have a soft spot for that special dirt track that first ignited our racing passions, and for me it's Brownstown Speedway. Even today, when I'm often asked about my favorite track, I've got no other answer than the quarter-mile oval in southern Indiana.

While it's in the pantheon of the nation's best dirt tracks — mentioning "Brownstown" doesn't require either the words speedway or Indiana to clarify what you're talking about — it's not everyone's favorite, I'm aware.

One driver contacted us asking if he could post our "press release" on his website, another media-type outlet wanted to get access to our "press release" from a racing weekend, and a subscriber emailed wondering why I didn't use a provided "press release" verbatim instead of an edited version.
