In a recent conversation I had with DirtonDirt.com's Michael Rigsby, he suggested I write a blog about being the new voice of Eldora Speedway. I told him that’d be fine except, at the time, I hadn’t even announced a race at Eldora yet. Finally, after an ill-fated attempt to start their season on April 3, Eldora was able to get their first race in the books on April 17 and there I was calling the action at arguably the most famous dirt track in the country.

During the week’s worth of Dirt Late Model racing at East Bay’s Dart Winternationals, you always get some good one-liners when you’re interviewing drivers. As I mentioned in my last blog, one of the things I most look forward to at East Bay (besides the warm weather and strawberry shortcake) is seeing who will break through and make a name for themselves. While several drivers had a solid week, I felt like Dillan White is the one who had really made a name for himself at the end of the week.
