Springfield (Mo.) Raceway has an all-day Autism Awareness event planned in conjunction with its April 22 MARS Dirtcar Series West event.

Along with the evening’s $3,000-to-win Late Model race, the day will also include a car and bike show, race cars on display, autograph sessions, vendor booths and live entertainment, highlighted by NASCAR’s 2016 Featured Artist Liz Moriondo.

The event is planned to bring awareness and raise money for Autism projects in Missouri.

“When asked, Liz jumped at the opportunity to be the headline performer at the Autism Awareness Extravaganza,” said Dr. James Wining, president of Acts Media Group.

Moriondo will take the stage at 5 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available for a $30 tax-deductible donation by calling Jackie Scott at (816) 457-0955 or by going online to actsmediagroup.com. The ticket includes both the concert and the MARS West-sanctioned race. According to raceway co-owner Jerry Hoffman, ticket holders may also purchase a pit pass for $5.

The day kicks off at 11 a.m. with the third annual Itus Virtus Car and Bike Show. The daytime car and bike show is family friendly and free to attend. The first 100 who register their vehicles will receive a special price of $10. Trophies will be awarded and each division and the public will have the opportunity to vote for the people’s choice award.

Along with live entertainment throughout the day, drivers will be available to answer questions and sign autographs, and prior to Moriondo’s concert, she will be signing autographs as well. Last year’s show drew more than 5,000 people.
