Wild West Shootout sets 2018 dates

Plans for 2018 follow the standard timelines for the six-race miniseries with events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday Jan. 6-7, Wednesday, Jan. 10 event, and Friday-Sunday, Jan. 12-14 feature unsanctioned Super Late Models, modifieds and the limited X-mod division.
It will mark the second straight year at the third-mile oval just southeast of Phoenix for event co-promoters Chris Kearns and Kevin Montgomery, who saw the Queen Creek track this week draw the best crowds since they’ve promoted the winter miniseries.
January racing action in Arizona has carved a spot on the Late Model schedule since its inception in 2001 with Hall of Famer Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., four-time MARS champion Terry Phillips of Springfield, Mo., and former Eldora Dream winner Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wis., among the winningest drivers.
