Terry Johnson of Piedmont, Okla., the 2014 Late Model champion at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, died Sunday after a battle with cancer. He was 53.

The Sooner Late Model Series competitor owned and operated Terry Johnson & Son Concrete. Besides driving the No. 83 for Johnson Racing, the California native was also fishing guide on Lake Texhoma for 12 years.

Survivors include wife Tina along with a son and daughter. Visitation is 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. The funeral is 3 p.m. Wednesday at Revival for Christ Club in Moore, Okla. Burial will follow at Moore Cemetery.
