Long-time Pennsylvania dirt track flagger Bill Kunisky of DuBois, Pa., died Saturday at his home. He was 74.

William "Bill" F. Kunisky, an equipment operator for the city of DuBois Street & Water Departments for 39 years, was a life-long dirt racing fan and first worked as a scorekeeper at Marion Center (Pa.) Speedway. For 40 years he was a well-known flagger at Marion Center, Hummingbird, Houtzdale, and Clearfield speedways. He was inducted into the Bud Garvey Racing Hall of Fame in 2012.

Along with his interests in racing, he was a member of a barbershop quartet and worked as a volunteer firefighter.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl, a son, daughter and three stepdaughters. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium in DuBois. The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday with burial in Morningside Cemetery. Visit baronickfuneralhome.com for complete obituary.
