Second fuel test clears New York racer
Crate Late Model racer Chad Homan of Penfield, N.Y., won his appeal of the Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH organization’s original ruling that his car's fuel didn’t meet specifications at an Aug. 19 event at Fulton (N.Y.) Speedway.
While the original sample tested by Sunoco Race Fuels labs showed Homan’s fuel wasn’t in compliance, a second sample sent to Sunoco met specifications, RUSH officials announced last week. Had Homan lost the appeal, he was subject to a 30-day suspension and $500 fine.
Homan, the track champion at Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario, has eight RUSH victories and stands third overall in RUSH weekly points.
