Former West Virginia Late Model racer Sonny Stutler of Mount Clare died Oct. 19 in Clarksburg, W.Va. He was 69.

The former machinist for Engine Machine Specialties built numerous engines for local racers as well as competing in his “Lazy 3” entry at home-state tracks in Morgantown, Elkins, Middlebourne, Shinnston as well as Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Orie Clifton Stutler Jr.’s survivors include his wife, Jacquelin Kay Livesay Stutler, two sons and two grandchildren. The funeral was Oct. 25 at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home in Nutter Fort, W.Va. For a complete obituary, visit amoscarvelli.com.
