East Tennessee racer dies at 33
East Tennessee dirt racer Brian Hooks of Oliver Springs died suddenly in a Wednesday accident. He was 33.
The Oak Ridge native who worked in construction and for Lamar Outdoor Advertising finished third in 2017 sportsman division points at Wartburg Speedway and was a frequent winner in Wartburg’s Limited Late Model division in recent seasons.
Survivors include his wife Kristie Hooks and two children, Madison and Mason.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, Premier Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Spring. The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a graveside service to follow at Little Community Baptist Church Cemetery. Visit sharpfh.com for complete obituary.
