First National 100 prelim postponed
PHENIX CITY, Ala. — Friday’s 43-lap National 100 preliminary feature at East Alabama Motor Speedway has been rescheduled for noon Saturday. Citing unsafe track conditions and concern from competing drivers, EAMS officials opted to end Friday’s program following a rollover accident in a support division heat race.
Action will resume Saturday with the completion of Friday’s program. A second complete program, featuring another 43-lap Super Late Model feature, will get underway Saturday at approximately 5:30 p.m. Chase Junghans of Manhattan, Kansas, and Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga., are scheduled to start on the front row of Saturday’s first $5,000-to-win main event. The two 43-lap features will be used to determine the first 16 starting positions for Sunday’s 43rd annual National 100.
Anyone who purchased a singe-day package for DirtonDirt.com’s pay-per-view video Friday will have access to watch Saturday’s early program, the completion of action originally scheduled for Friday. Anyone purchasing a single-day package for Saturday’s program will have access to watch Saturday’s action in its entirety.
