Choura Memorial set for Lernerville
Lernerville Speedway on May 11 will host the Frank Choura Memorial for the Late Model division, honoring a three-time Late Model winner at the Sarver, Pa., track who died in February at age 79.
The Choura family has donated funds for the $2,500 winner's purse and Chuck Kennedy Auto Sales added $25 per finisher, making it a $2,525-to-win event for DIRTcar-sanctioned Super Late Models.
The race pays tribute to the former Ellwood City resident who was a long-time engine builder, mechanic and racer. The member of the Circle Track Hall of Fame (1995) and Twin State Auto Club Hall of Fame (’16) twice competed at Daytona.
