Fire destroys Illinois Crate racer's home
The Spoon River Speedway racing community is rallying to help after the Banner, Ill., track’s Crate Late Model points leader Sean Dray and his family lost virtually all their possessions in an early morning house fire Tuesday near Farmington, Ill.
Two adults and two children escaped without injury and the single-story ranch house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, according to reports from WEEK-TV and the Peoria (Ill.) Journal Star. It took two hours for about 25 firefighters from four departments to extinguish the fire; the family’s dog was unaccounted for.
The Bank of Farmington has set up an account for donations in the names of Sha Lafferty, Dray’s girlfriend, or her mother Sandy Farwell. Visit the bankoffarmington.com for contact information and branch locations.
“We are so glad everyone made it out of the house uninjured,” Spoon River Speedway posted on the track’s Facebook page. “Let’s all come together and help Sean and his family out.”
