Former Late Model driver Randy Cook of Chilhowie, Va., died Friday at his Smyth County home. He was 63.

The avid racer drove No. 21 cars in the Late Model divisions on the dirt at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., as well as the asphalt at Lonesome Pine Speedway in Coeburn, Va. He worked in the auto body and frame business for more than 40 years.
