DirtStation providing blasts from past
A slice of Dirt Late Model racing history is coming to DirtonDirt.com twice a week for a limited time courtesy of veteran videographer and DirtStation.com owner Steve Gigeous.
Drawing on the extensive racing library of Williamsport, Md.’s Gigeous, starting March 17 and continuing every Tuesday and Saturday morning for the next month two videos each week will be posted on DirtonDirt.com to take subscribers back in time and relive great and memorable moments from Dirt Late Model racing’s past.
Gigeous has shot thousands of dirt-track races across the country over the past four decades, building a massive video library of historic action. His DirtStation.com videos will feature an assortment of vintage races, driver interviews and other interesting action from the history of the Dirt Late Model division, including the 1993 Dirt Track World Championship at Pennsboro (W.Va.) Speedway, the 2004 Xtreme DirtCar Series at South Carolina’s I-20 Speedway, the 1998 Don Smith 100 at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn., and an interview with Georgia Hall of Famer Bill Ingram.
“We’re really excited to tap into what I call the greatest dirt-track video collection ever,” said DirtonDirt.com founder Michael Rigsby. “Steve Gigeous has become a legend in the dirt-track video world from his many years of traveling far-and-wide to shoot races and we’re very fortunate to have access to his library. I have no doubt that DirtonDirt.com subscribers are going to love watching Steve’s footage from the past.”
Gigeous’s DirtStation.com will also provide historic videos that appear daily on FloRacing from March 17 through April 17. The videos will be available to all FloRacing subscribers and include sprint car racing as well as the Dirt Late Model videos that can be viewed on DirtonDirt.com.
