Spring Nationals weekend postponed
Citing the coronavirus pandemic and limitation of large gatherings, the Schaeffer's Spring Nationals has postponed this weekend's races in Georgia to a mid-April weekend.
The $4,000-to-win Shamrock at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Ga., was rescheduled for April 17 and Senoia Raceway's $10,000-to-win series event was reset for April 18.
“Hopefully everything will get back to some sort of normalcy between now and then and when we get back to racing, it’ll be full blast,” series promoter Ray Cook said in a series release.
The Spring Nationals season is now set to open April 10-11 at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., and Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway, which hosts the $21,000-to-win Bill Corum Memorial co-sanctioned by the Schaeffer's Iron-Man Late Model Series.
