WoO postpones Volunteer, Cherokee
Making its first scheduling change since the coronavirus pandemic, the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series today announced the postponement of its next scheduled events on March 27-28 at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn., and Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C.
Citing Monday new guidelines announced by President Trump and the White House Coronavirus Task Force asking Americans to further curtail events and increase social distancing for a 15-day period running through March 31 to help slow the spread of the disease, WoO officials decided to postpone the Volunteer and Cherokee races in conjunction with the track promoters. New dates for the events were not immediately announced.
WoO officials plan to continue monitoring developments across our nation and make decisions on future events when appropriate. The next scheduled race would be Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway’s April 3-4 Illini 100 weekend with $6,000- and $15,000-to-win features.
