Thunderhill postpones SAS visit
Citing concerns with the spreading coronavirus pandemic, Thunderhill Raceway Park has postponed March 28’s Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series event at the Summertown, Tenn., oval. A makeup date for the $4,000-to-win Super Late Model event wasn't announced.
The track also scratched March 21’s regular-season opener and plans to announced Monday whether the track will have a regular-season program on March 28 or look to its next scheduled event April 11.
Among other coronavirus-related scheduling announcements:
Lincoln Speedway: The Illinois fairgrounds oval is maintaining plans for March 29 and April 5 practices with race cars pitting a safe distance from others. No spectators will be allowed in the grandstands.
Tri-County Speedway: The Pollard, Ala., track was advised by government officials to stay dark for 14 days. The track tentatively plans to open for April 4's Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series event paying $3,000-to-win.
Lake Ozark Speedway: The Eldon, Mo., track has postponed the start of its season to April 18. The change eliminates a March 21 practice and three scheduled regular-season events.
Mountain View Raceway: The Spring City, Tenn., oval cancelled weekend poractice and will announced later its plans for opening night.
Macon Speedway: The Illinois track is maintaining plans for March 28 and April 4 practices with race cars pitting a safe distance from others. No spectators will be allowed in the grandstands.
