Talladega SAS dates are shuffled
In addition to its postponement of the March 28 event at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summerntown, Tenn., connected to the coronarvirus pandemic, the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series has made other schedule changes.
Talladega Short Track's April 25 series event at the Eastaboga, Ala., oval has been postponed with no makeup date immediately announced. Talladega has also pushed back the third annual Governor's Cup event at Talladega to Aug. 15 from the original Aug. 8 date.
The tour's next tentatively scheduled events are April 17-18 at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Ala., for $3,000- and $5,000-to-win events.
Other recent announcements of schedule changes connected to coronavirus:
Atomic Speedway: The Alma, Ohio, track moved its unsanctioned Atomic 100 weekend to May 29-30. The $6,000- and $12,000-to-win Super Late Model events were originally scheduled for April 10-11.
Enid Speedway: With county commissioners cancelling Garfield County Fairgrounds events until April 12, March 28’s Sooner Late Model Series event at the Oklahoma oval has been postponed without an immediate makeup date.
East Bay Raceway Park: The Florida Late Model Challenge Series lost its second tour event with the Gibsonton, Fla., track's March 28 closure. The series announced it still plans to pay out a $15,000 points fund among the top 10 drivers.
RPM Speedway: March 27’s inaugural DFW Crate Late Model Series event at the Crandall, Texas, oval has been postponed; no makeup date was immediately announced.
