Motorcycle accident injures Illinois driver
Longtime Illinois Dirt Late Model racer Steve Thorsten and his girlfriend are hospitalized with serious injuries suffered in a June 5 motorcycle accident and GoFundMe accounts have been set up to assist both.
The Woodworth, Ill., racer, a frequent competitor at Fairbury Speedway and other Illinois tracks, has undergone multiple surgeries on his right leg, elbow and shoulder and was removed from a ventilator Wednesday. His passenger Kristin Dalton of Clifton, Ill., suffered a brain bleed, concussion, broken neck, broken back, multiple fractures and the amputation of her right leg above the knee.
"Please continue to pray for both her Steve they both have a long journey ahead of them, but with prayers and support they won’t be doing it alone," said a post from Mike and Erika Dalton on Kristin's GoFundMe page.
