Saturday's downpour at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway is "simply too much to overcome" to host Sunday's DIRTcar Summer Nationals event, promoter Ken Dobson announced this afternoon. Dobson said he doesn't expect the event to be made up.

Jacksonville's cancellation marks the fourth of the scheduled 36-race tour and second in a row following Saturday's rainout at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., which was rescheduled for Aug. 14.

Through seven series events, Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., has 482 points to lead Tanner English (451) and Brian Shirley (437), the four-time and reigning series champion who won Wednesday at La Salle (Ill.) Speedway and Friday at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Ill.
