Ex-Kentucky racer Napper dies at 60
Jeff Napper, who steered his No. 112 in Dirt Late Model competition for more than 30 seasons, died Sunday at his Winchester, Ky., home. He was 60.
The former employee of Toyota Motor Manufacturing was a longtime dirt racer at events in Kentucky and beyond, at one time a regular on the Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series and a former starter of Florence Speedway’s North-South 100 and Barren County Speedway’s Kentucky Klassic.
William Jeffrey Napper’s survivors include his wife, Sherry Wells Napper. He’s also survived by stepsons, Joshua and Weston Ratliff; granddaughter, Shelby Sturgill; grandson, Jackson Mills; uncle, Jimmie Swafford; cousins, Keith and Jamie Swafford; and nephew, Dalton Spencer.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester; the funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Winchester Cemetery.
