Eldora adds races to Dream undercard
Enhancing Sept. 7’s completion of the postponed Dirt Late Model Dream, Eldora Speedway officials announced today the addition of three 20-lap feature events to the Wednesday-night program at the famed track in Rossburg, Ohio.
Preceding the restart of the $128,000-to-win Dream finale — halted by rain June 11 with 14 of 100 laps completed and Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., leading — will be 20-lap, $5,000-to-win features open to drivers who have never won a Dirt Late Model feature at Eldora and are not among the 24 drivers in the Dream.
Eligible drivers will participate in timed hot laps with the results used to lineup the features. All drivers will run a feature with the number of events contested determined by car count.
Hot laps for all cars is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 with the first Chasing the Dream feature to hit the track at 7:30 p.m. The Dream’s restart is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. and will be followed by a performance by Dirty Grass Soul as part of the SRI Fan Jam in the Fan Zone.
June 11 tickets and pit passes will be honored; newcoming attendees can purchase tickets (visit eldoraspeedway.com for details).
Eldora officials also announced that they will begin parking haulers at 11 a.m. Sept. 7 for all teams, including those not eligible for the Sept. 7 events but planning to run the Sept. 8-10 World 100 weekend. Tech inspection will begin at noon, and drivers that elect to park and go through tech will be given the option to participate in Wednesday hot laps. Drivers not eligible for any of Wednesday’s racing events that choose not to enter the gates Wednesday will be parked and go through World 100 tech inspection Thursday.
