The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Series on Tuesday announced a purse upgrade for Sept. 30-Oct. 1’s Bill Hendren Memorial at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial.
The opening event will pay $4,000-to-win with the finale paying a record $10,000-to-win at the half-mile oval for the event sponsored by FK Rod Ends, City Chevrolet, Pro Fabrication, Keyser Manufacturing and Precise Racing Products. The Oct. 1 event runs in conjunction with the $20,000-to-win Pittsburgher on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Pittsburgh’s action completes a three-race weekend created by the postponement of the Cider Jug 40 at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, W.Va. The Sept. 29 tour event pays $4,000-to-win.
• The American Crate Late Model Series boosted its purse for Saturday’s event at Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, to $2,500-to-win with $1,500 to the runner-up and $1,000 for third. Jasen Loftice, Jambo BBQ pits and Texas General Mechanical added the extra purse money.
