WoO, PPMS among events doomed by Ian
Facing unfavorable weather forecasts from the impacts of Hurricane Ian, the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series both cancelled scheduled weekend events.
The WoO tour on Wednesday announced the cancellation of its Friday-Saturday doubleheader at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., and Senoia (Ga.) Raceway. Cherokee announced plans to reschedule the fourth annual Mike Duvall Memorial, but no details were immediately announced.
On Friday, Lucas Oil Series and Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway officials cited wet forecasts for the rest of the weekend in mutually agreeing to call off Saturday's $20,000-to-win Pittsburgher, which was also set to include a $10,000-to-win RUSH Crate Late Model show. PPMS management still plan to run Friday's $4,000-to-win RUSH-sanctioned Crate program.
