Rain wipes out Volusia's Friday WoO action
BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Rain that stopped Friday’s Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals program before the fourth World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series heat ultimately led to the cancellation of the evening’s action at Volusia Speedway Park.
With light mist continuing to fall more than 90 minutes after the show was halted and the track crew unable to work on the soaked surface, WoO and track officials decided it was best to call off further Friday competition to ensure conditions for Saturday’s $20,000-to-win WoO finale won't be hampered.
While time trials and three of six heat races were completed, the results will be wiped out with Friday’s program not resuming. Attendees will have the option of exchanging their tickets or pit passes for entry into Saturday’s show or sending them to the World Racing Group office for refunds.
