Busch driving Late Model at Bulls Gap
Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch will pilot a Wells Motorsports team car to Brandon Overton in April 6’s Kyle Larson Presents FloRacing Late Model Challenge at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn., event promoters announced.
Busch and Larson are among NASCAR stars expected to take on Dirt Late Model racing’s best drivers in the $20,000-to-win event at the 4/10-mile dirt oval that kicks off the weekend’s busy NASCAR slate at nearby dirt-covered Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
Busch, a 37-year-old native of Las Vegas, Nev., has significant Dirt Late Model experience in capturing 2012’s Prelude to the Dream at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, and fielding a Double L Motorsports team car to Jonathan Davenport in 2021’s Bristol Dirt Nationals.
Last year’s Volunteer winner Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., is among Dirt Late Model aces expected to compete in the FloRacing-streamed event boasting more than $62,000 in prize money. Advance tickets are available at tickets.flosports.tv/events/latemodelchallenge.
