A bleak forecast with rain and cold temperatures prompted track and series officials to cancel this weekend's Schaeffer's Spring Nationals doubleheader set for Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., and Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway.

Friday's $10,053-to-win event at Wythe will not be rescheduled. Saturday's $21,000-to-win Lil Bill Corum Memorial at Tazewell — an event co-sanctioned by the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series — was reset for July 3, with all pre-entries rolling over to the new date.

Other April 7-8 events affected by weather:

Lake View: Saturday's Ultimate Southeast Series opener at Lake View Motor Speedway in Nichols, S.C., was rained out and rescheduled for May 13.

I-75 Raceway: Saturday’s American All-Star Series presented by PPM Racing Products race has been postponed, following heavy overnight rain and saturated grounds. The second annual $7,500 Race Your Ice Off event has been moved to Friday, April 14 and will serve as the opener of a weekend doubleheader for the All-Star Crate Series, concluding with Saturday’s $3,000-to-win show at Lake Cumberland Speedway.
