HTF officiating, streaming National 100
The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series announced Tuesday that the first-year series will partner with East Alabama Motor Speedway to sanction and officiate October's 49th annual National 100. The event, as well as East Alabama’s annual Alabama State Championships will be live-streamed on Hunt the Front TV, part of several changes for both events and the historic Phenix City oval.
Oct. 29's National 100, a $30,000-to-win, single-day Super Late Model event, will be a non-points HFT event. HTF tour officials will oversee the previously unsanctioned Super Late Model event, including race directing, technical inspection and scoring.
National 100 support divisions — Limited Late Model, 604 Crate Late Model, 602 Crate Late Model, hobby, road warrior, front-wheel drive stock, and 602 charger — will be completed over two days with preliminaries Oct. 28 and features Oct. 29, followed by the National 100. Two provisional starting spots will be added to the National 100 starting field based on the final 2023 points standings for the HTF tour, which wraps up Oct. 7.
Sept. 22-24's Alabama State Championships have been revamped to spotlight grass-roots divisions. The weekend will feature larger purses among 10 divisions, highlighted by a $10,000-to-win 604 Crate Late Model event and a $7,500-to-win 602 Crate Late Model event. Super Late Models won't be in action.
