Oct. 12’s Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association event scheduled to open its final weekend of the season has been cancelled by Adams County Speedway in Quincy, Ill. The track didn’t expect to have enough staff for the weeknight event, according to MLRA series director Ernie Leftwich.

The scheduled makeup of a $7,000-to-win MLRA event rained out July 2 had been scheduled to include three other divisions and precede the MLRA season-ending doubleheader Oct. 13-14 at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill.

Among other October schedule changes:

• Facing a wet forecast, McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, Pa., cancelled Oct. 6-7's Fall Classic, a multidivision event including a pair of $3,000-to-win Super Late Model features.

• Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wis., on Tuesday announced the cancellation of its Oct. 13-14 Can-Am Clash, a season-ending event that included a $2,500-to-win Late Model program. The decision was made to avoid conflicting with the rescheduled Duane Mahder Memorial and Punky Manor Challenge of Champions at Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wis.

• The GM Performance 602 Series on Tuesday was added to Oct. 14's program for the Charlie Mize Memorial at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway. The 602 Crate Late Model event pays $2,000-to-win on an eight-division program.

• The Steel Block Bandits Dirt Late Model Challenge has added a $3,000-to-win event at County Line Raceway preceding the originally scheduled $5,000-to-win 15th annual Race for the Kids at the Elm City, N.C., oval.
