Mississippi Challenge Series reveals '24 sked
The Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series has released its 2024 schedule, where it remains anchored by six tracks that have long supported the tour entering its 24th season of competition.
The 16-race slate is highlighted by the season-ending 18th annual Gumbo Nationals at Greenville (Miss.) Speedway, where the two-day show will have a $5,000-to-win opener before awarding a $10,000 winner’s prize in the finale.
Greenville leads all tracks with four series dates this season, starting with $3,000-to-win events on June 8 and Aug. 3.
Byram, Miss.‘s Jackson Motor Speedway — a schedule mainstay since 2008 — hosts the March 23 season opener and a late-July return. Both races pay $3,000-to-win.
Hattiesburg (Miss.) Speedway has been on the tour since 2010 and gets a pair of $2,500-to-win stops on March 29 and July 5.
Meridian, Miss.‘s Whynot Motorsports Park returns to host MSCCS events for the 18th year, starting with a spring date on March 30 before a July 6 stop. Each date will offer a $3,000 winner’s prize.
Joining the schedule off-and-on since 2009, Columbus, Miss.‘s Magnolia Motor Speedway — better known as "The Mag" — returns with two dates this season (April 27 and Aug. 24) with each paying $3,000 to the winner.
Columbus (Miss.) Speedway graces the MSCCS schedule for the 18th year, with $3,000-to-win stops on June 7 and Aug. 9.
Typically a Mississippi-focused touring series, the tour plans its second-ever stop — its first since Aug. 8, 2020 — at Chatham, La.‘s Super Bee Speedway, with a $3,000-to-win race on Sept. 14.
Lastly, MSCCS plots its inaugural visit to Guntown, Miss.‘s Pine Ridge Speedway on Aug. 10 where a $3,000 will be awarded to the winner.
