Rain that began falling on Saturday morning and was forecast to continue throughout the day forced World Racing Group officials to cancel the evening’s World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series-sanctioned finale of the 53rd Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla.

The rainout brought a close to the week-long meet at the half-mile oval outside Daytona with Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., crowned the $3,000 DIRTcar Nationals points champion.
