All-Tech Raceway’s $29,000-to-win Powell Family Memorial on the Rogers-Dabbs Crate Racin’ USA Series has been cancelled amid community recovery from Hurricane Helene, track owner Wendell Durrance announced this morning.

“We’ve talked to some of our biggest supporters, fans and James Powell. We feel like it’s best to cancel the event,” Durrance said, adding that 2024’s event won’t be rescheduled.

“We just don’t feel we need to be in a festive atmosphere right now with so many who have lost everything,” Powell said in the track’s Facebook post. “Our focus now is helping those in need anyway we can; we hope everyone understands and supports this decision.”

The event, originally scheduled for Oct. 18-19, will return for the 2025 season, officials said.

The track’s next event is Nov. 1-2 for the All Star Monster Truck Tour. Oval racing resumes with the final points races and crowning of track champions. Kyle Bridges leads All-Tech’s 604 Crate Late Model points and Wyatt Gainey leads 602 Crate Late Model points.

Among other Hurricane-related schedule changes, Waycross (Ga.) Motor Speedway also cancelled Oct. 4-5’s Southern Clash-sanctioned weekend after storm damage to the track's tower, sound system and transponder loop, among other damage. The track suspended racing indefinitely.

Two other Georgia tracks, Swainsboro Raceway and Dublin’s Historic 441 Speedway, also reported damage that will require significant repairs and cleanup before racing can continue. Swainsboro suffered significant damage to structures, fencing and more, but spent the days after the storm feeding more than 1,000 in the area with food from the concession stands. The Dublin oval’s tower roof was ripped off, electronics were flooded, the tech shed demolished among other damage.
