Port Royal suspends DQ'd driver

A Limited Late Model driver who drove the wrong way around Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway and rammed a competitor’s car in retaliation during a June 28 feature race has been suspended from competition at the half-mile oval through 2026, the track announced today.
Taylor Farlling, 27, of Newville, Pa., must also pay an unspecified fine and meet with the track’s race committee before being reinstated for potential competition at the track in 2027.
The track penalty was issued after "it was determined that Mr. Farlling used his race car in an aggressive and dangerous manner, violating the track’s standards for driver safety and sportsmanship,” according to a track press release. “The incident involved actions deemed by track officials as using a race car as a weapon — an egregious offense that the speedway takes with the utmost seriousness.”
Farlling’s punishment came after an incident in the early laps of the Ron Zimmerman Tribute when contact with competitor Dillan Stake triggered a Farlling spin in turn two and a resulting yellow flag. During the caution period, Farlling drove his car clockwise around the half-mile oval, climbing the nosepiece of Stake’s car, which was sitting in turn four. Farlling then backed up and drove over the left-front corner of Stake’s car before officials intervened.
If Farlling pays his fine, the money will go to the York County Racing Club's Injured Driver's Fund.
Farlling was disqualified from the June 28 race. In his only other 2025 start at Port Royal, he made a 14th-to-second charge on April 27 in a race won by Andrew Yoder.
"The track has to do what they have to do; no hard feelings on my end,” Farlling said in a statement provided to DirtonDirt. “I lost my composure and let my emotions take over. The incident after the wreck is completely on me.”
