A sponsor has stepped up to add $5,000 to the winner's purse of July 25’s Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series at Penton (Ala.) Raceway, making the Danny Carswell & David Brackett Memorial a $10,000-to-win event.

Among other upcoming schedule and purse changes in Late Model special and sanctioned events:

• Beckley (W.Va.) Motor Speedway announced its Mountaineer 50 will pay $10,000-to-win for Super Late Models on Sept. 20. The unsanctioned event runs in the memory of late driver Ellie Bills with sponsorship from VP Racing Fuels. The event will provide provisional starting spots for the Beckley USA 100 in October.

• The Comp Cams Super Dirt Series has shifted its July 18 event to Arrowhead Speedway in Colcord, Okla. The race was originally set for Batesville Speedway in Locust Grove, Ark., which is hosting a single-day event on July 19.

• The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series announced that July 18’s Dustbuster at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, will pay $2,000-to-win for heat races.

• The Burlile Ohio Valley Late Model Dirt Series dropped an Aug. 8 date with the closure of Mountain Motor Speedway in Isom, Ky.
